ScanFakes helps you check whether a dating profile is genuine. You upload a screenshot, and we analyze the visible photo, name, and bio, then return a Fake Score with the evidence behind it.

ScanFakes uses the same publicly available reverse image search that anyone can run manually. We simply make it faster and easier for people protecting themselves. We don't access private accounts, hacked data, or anything that isn't already public on the open web.

ScanFakes is designed to help individuals verify photos shared with them. It is not intended for surveillance, stalking, or any harmful use.

By using ScanFakes you agree not to use it to:

• stalk, harass, threaten, or intimidate anyone;
• monitor a partner, ex-partner, or any person without a legitimate safety reason;
• discriminate against anyone in housing, employment, credit, or similar decisions;
• scan photos of minors;
• scan photos of people who have not shared them with you, except to protect yourself or someone in your care from fraud.

We may suspend or close accounts that misuse the service, without refund.

Every scan is started by you, one at a time. ScanFakes does not offer background monitoring, automated scanning, or alerts about other people. The person you scan is never notified.

A Fake Score is an informed signal, not a fact. Reverse image search and AI analysis can miss things or flag innocent profiles, so results may contain errors. Use ScanFakes as one input alongside your own judgment, never as the sole basis for a decision about another person, and follow the advice in our safety guides whatever the score says.

You need an account to run scans, and you're responsible for keeping your login details safe. Free accounts include a monthly allowance of scans. You can buy single scan credits or an Unlimited subscription; subscriptions renew automatically and can be cancelled anytime from your billing page, taking effect at the end of the current period. Payments are processed by Stripe.

We do not store, share, or sell any uploaded photos or personal data. Photos are deleted immediately after scanning. How we handle the little data we do keep is covered in our Privacy Policy.

ScanFakes is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions you make based on scan results, for the actions of people you meet online, or for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

We may update these terms as the service evolves. If we make a material change, we'll note the new date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, email account holders. Continuing to use ScanFakes after a change means you accept the updated terms.
